Speaking with IGN, the co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, confirmed that Titanfall 2 is currently in development at the studio and will finally bring the franchise to PlayStation. Although the planned sequel is currently without an official title, Zampella didn’t give gamers a time frame in which they can expect the next entry in the Titanfall series.

As mentioned earlier, one of the biggest disappointments for some fans was the exclusivity factor behind the original Titanfall game and Zampella shared those sentiments – as well as admitted that the title simply couldn’t have been made without the Microsoft deal in the first place.

One of the major elements of Titanfall that rubbed some the wrong way was its online-only gameplay. Focussing on getting mechs and destroying others in a constant barrage of death matches and other team-based scenarios is the entire premise of the original title, but Zampella refused to touch upon whether or not there will be a single-player campaign of sorts in Titanfall 2.

From the sounds of it, Titanfall 2 is still at a very early point in development and likely won’t be showcased for quite some time. Given the fact that the add-on content for the game has only just been made available for free, it’s not all that shocking to suggest that Electronic Arts is hoping to reignite excitement in the title before eventually releasing its successor.

Since this news dropping, it’s only a matter of time before EA gives fans something a little more concrete to start getting excited about. With that in mind, stay tuned to Game Rant and standby for more details on Titanfall 2.
